Photo sales, orders and downloads
Your clients buy where they are already looking at the photos. The money goes into your account through your own payment gateway and FotoHook takes nothing from each sale.
What it does
Every published photo can carry a price. The client adds it to the cart from the gallery itself, adjusts quantities, checks out and pays by card without leaving your brand.
Payment runs through your gateway: your Stripe account or your bank's virtual terminal via Redsys. The money lands directly in your bank account, never passes through us, and has no platform commission taken out of it.
When the payment clears, the order becomes paid and the download authorisation is created: from that point, and only then, those photos can be downloaded at full resolution.
How it works, step by step
You set prices
Per photo or per whole gallery. A gallery with no prices works just the same, as delivery rather than as a shop.
You connect your gateway
Paste your Stripe keys into the settings or switch on Redsys with your bank's details. Until you connect one, sales run in test mode so you can rehearse the whole circuit.
The client buys
Cart, quantities, summary and card payment. All inside the gallery, with your logo and your colours.
The payment clears
Stripe or the bank confirm the transaction and the order is marked paid automatically. No statements to check and nothing to tick off by hand.
The client downloads
The download of the original appears in their orders section. Each download is authorised individually and expires after its window.
Details worth knowing
No commission per photo
You pay a flat fee for your account. Sell ten photos or a thousand, FotoHook costs the same.
Stripe or Redsys
Stripe to get going in five minutes; Redsys if you prefer your own Spanish bank's virtual terminal. Both can coexist.
Order states
Pending, paid, cancelled or refunded. The dashboard list tells you where each one stands.
Downloads with an expiry date
Each authorisation has an expiry date. After it, the link stops delivering the file even if someone saved it.
Test mode
With no gateway connected, the order confirms itself: you can walk through the whole purchase before signing up for anything.
The original, untouched
What the client downloads is the file you uploaded, without a watermark and without recompression.
Quantities per photo
A client can order more than one copy of the same photo; the cart carries the quantity and the unit price.
Order reference
Every order is born with its own unique reference, which is what you and the client use to refer to it.
Subtotal, discount and total
The order stores the three figures separately, so it is always clear what was discounted and why.

No. The money goes from your client to your gateway and from there to your bank. We only charge the service fee.
To take card payments through a gateway, yes, you need to register with your tax details, as with any other sale. FotoHook changes nothing about that.
Yes. With no gateway connected the whole circuit runs in test mode: cart, order and download, with no real charge.
The refund is issued from your gateway, which is where the money is, and the order is marked as refunded in FotoHook.
