Photo selection: favourites and voting
The slow part of a shoot is not the shooting: it is waiting for the client to tell you which ones they want. With favourites and votes, they do the selecting and it reaches you in order.
What it does
Every client has their own favourites list: they tap the heart on a photo and it is saved in their section, so they can get back to it without hunting through four hundred images.
That list is not just for them. It tells you which photos actually landed, which is exactly what you need to propose an album, an enlargement or a second delivery.
And composites carry a real vote: each pupil picks the template they prefer and the count is always visible, both in the dashboard and on their own screen. It is what settles the classroom argument about which layout gets printed.
One user, one vote per photo. The same account cannot vote twice on the same image, so the count is something you can actually decide on.
How it works, step by step
The client opens their gallery
They see the watermarked grid, as always.
They mark favourites
One tap on the heart. Saved immediately, with no page reload and no form to fill in.
They vote on the template, on a composite
Each pupil picks a layout. The system records a single vote per pupil.
You see the outcome
In the group statistics: most favourited, most voted and most viewed, side by side.
You propose with data
The album, the enlargement or the large print are proposed on what the client already pointed at, not on what you imagine they liked.
Details worth knowing
Private favourites
Each client's list is their own: other clients in the same event never see it.
One vote per pupil
On a composite template vote, voting twice from the same account is blocked in the database, not with a warning on screen.
Ranking per group
The count happens inside each gallery, which is the unit that makes sense: a class, a team, a family.
No lists over WhatsApp
No more "numbers 23, 45 and 112". The selection travels inside the system, attached to the photo and to whoever chose it.
It pairs with sales
A photo that is heavily favourited and rarely bought is usually a pricing problem, not a photo problem.
Composites too
The template vote on a class composite works on the same principle: each pupil decides and the count is always visible.
Who it is for
Weddings and communions, where the family has to choose for the album. School and sports photography, where one photo has to be picked out of many. And any job where today you get the selection as scattered messages.
Frequently asked questions
You see the count per photo in the group statistics, which is what you decide on. The list itself belongs to each client and reaches you aggregated.
Each account votes once per photo. Since accounts are created with a verified email address, voting a thousand times would take a thousand different addresses.
The composite template has its own vote inside the composites module. Gallery votes are for the photos.
Yes, whenever they want. It is their list and they manage it.
